Terms & Conditions

Policy version: 1.1 Draft · Last updated: 22 October 2026

The terms that govern use of DreamMirror and AI-generated interpretation features.

1. Introduction

Welcome to DreamMirror.

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the DreamMirror application, website and related services.

Registered users are asked to accept the current version of these Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) before recording or interpreting dreams through an account. Guest users are asked for a local acknowledgement before first dream recording or interpretation on that device. Browsing public pages does not by itself create the same recorded acceptance as those steps.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use DreamMirror’s account or Guest dream-recording and interpretation features.

2. About DreamMirror

DreamMirror is a reflective dream journaling application.

It allows users to:

record dreams;

explore dreams through multiple interpretative perspectives;

reflect on recurring themes over time;

build a personal dream archive.

DreamMirror is designed as a tool for reflection.

It is **not** intended to diagnose, treat or predict.

3. Human Agency

A core principle of DreamMirror is that:

**The dreamer remains the expert on their own life.**

DreamMirror provides perspectives, questions and observations.

It does not determine what a dream "really means."

Users remain responsible for deciding which interpretations, if any, feel meaningful to them.

4. Interpretation Disclaimer

DreamMirror provides AI-generated interpretations for reflective purposes only.

Interpretations:

are not facts;

are not medical advice;

are not psychological diagnoses;

are not legal advice;

are not financial advice;

are not predictions of future events.

DreamMirror should never be used as a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.

If you are experiencing emotional distress or mental health concerns, please seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.

5. User Accounts

Some DreamMirror features require an account.

Users are responsible for:

maintaining the security of their account;

keeping login credentials confidential;

ensuring account information remains accurate.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

6. Subscription Services

DreamMirror offers Guest access, a free trial, and paid subscription plans.

Current access and subscription states include:

**Guest** — explore without creating an account;

**Free Trial** — a 7-day trial after creating an account;

**DreamMirror** — paid subscription (£3.99 per month);

**DreamMirror Plus** — paid subscription (£5.99 per month).

Guest and Trial describe access states. DreamMirror and DreamMirror Plus are paid subscription plans.

Pricing, billing, cancellation and further subscription detail are set out in the separate **Subscription & Billing Policy**.

7. Ownership of Your Content

Your dreams remain your own.

DreamMirror does not claim ownership of:

dream entries;

reflections;

notes;

personal archive content.

You retain ownership of the content you create within the application.

By submitting dream content, you grant DreamMirror permission to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the services you request, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use DreamMirror:

for unlawful purposes;

to attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts;

to interfere with the operation of the service;

to upload malicious software or harmful code;

to use AI-generated content in a way that violates applicable law.

DreamMirror may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously violate these Terms.

9. Availability

DreamMirror aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Maintenance, updates, technical issues or circumstances beyond our control may occasionally affect access.

We may modify or improve the service over time. Where a change materially affects paid subscription features, DreamMirror will take reasonable steps to communicate that change appropriately. These Terms do not remove rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

10. Intellectual Property

DreamMirror’s software, design, branding, written product content and other proprietary materials are protected by intellectual property law.

Unless otherwise stated, intellectual property relating to the DreamMirror platform remains the property of the owner of DreamMirror.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of the software or brand to you. They also do not change your ownership of your dream content under section 7.

11. AI Technology

DreamMirror uses artificial intelligence to generate interpretations, reflective questions and related features.

DreamMirror may update, replace or combine the AI technologies or providers used to deliver the service over time, for example to support quality, reliability, privacy practices, cost sustainability or alignment with DreamMirror’s principles.

These changes do not alter your ownership of dream content or archive rights.

Where a significant change materially affects how the service operates, DreamMirror will inform users through the app or another appropriate method where reasonably possible.

Further detail about how AI providers process information is set out in the Privacy Policy.

12. AI-Generated Content

Although we aim to provide thoughtful responses, AI-generated content may:

contain inaccuracies;

be incomplete;

reflect multiple possible interpretations;

occasionally produce unexpected results.

Users should exercise their own judgement when engaging with AI-generated content. Interpretations are invitations to reflect, not definitive explanations of what a dream means.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

DreamMirror shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of the service.

This includes, but is not limited to:

emotional decisions based on interpretations;

reliance upon AI-generated content;

loss of business;

loss of profits;

interruption of service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

14. Archive Retention

DreamMirror uses two separate archive retention schedules:

**Never-subscribed Trial:** if a free trial ends without an active subscription, the account becomes read-only and the dream archive is retained for **30 days**.

**Former paid subscriber:** when a paid DreamMirror or DreamMirror Plus subscription ends, the account becomes read-only and the archive is retained for **12 months**.

These schedules must not be merged. Account deletion is a separate user-initiated process.

During an applicable retention period, users may browse, search, export or delete their archive where those features are available, and may resubscribe.

DreamMirror’s intended approach includes advance email notice before permanent archive deletion. Reminder email and automatic archive-deletion processes for Trial and former-paid retention are **not currently active**. Until reminder delivery is enabled, you should not rely on receiving an email reminder. If you wish to keep your dreams, please export them, subscribe or resubscribe during the retention period.

Further details are set out in the Privacy Policy and Subscription & Billing Policy.

15. Account Closure

Users may delete their account at any time.

Account deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery or cooling-off period. When deletion completes, DreamMirror removes the authentication account, associated profile information and associated personal archive data. The deleted account can no longer be used to log in. A deleted account and its dreams cannot be restored.

Subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion. Cancelling a paid subscription does not by itself delete your account. Permanent account deletion also ends an active DreamMirror subscription, so it does not continue to renew after the account has been deleted.

Further detail about data handling is set out in the Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to the Service

DreamMirror is an evolving product.

Features, subscription options and functionality may change over time.

Where appropriate, significant changes will be communicated to users. Changes that materially affect paid subscriptions remain subject to applicable consumer law and the Subscription & Billing Policy.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be made available through the DreamMirror application or website.

Where a new version requires renewed acceptance, DreamMirror may ask you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing with affected account features such as dream recording or interpretation. Material changes may also be communicated through appropriate means where reasonably possible.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.

Guiding Principle

DreamMirror was created to help people become more curious about their own minds.

It does not promise certainty.

It does not promise hidden truths.

It does not replace professional advice.

Its purpose is to provide a thoughtful space where dreams can be explored with curiosity, reflection and respect for the dreamer's own understanding.

Every interpretation is an invitation to reflect—not a definitive explanation of what your dream means.
