Subscription & Billing Policy

Policy version: 1.1 Draft · Last updated: 22 October 2026

How DreamMirror subscriptions, trial expiry, archive access, and billing are managed.

1. Introduction

This Subscription & Billing Policy explains how DreamMirror subscriptions work.

It covers:

Guest access and the free trial;

paid subscription plans;

billing;

cancellation;

changing plans where available;

archive access after a trial or subscription ends;

refunds; and

how subscription changes may evolve.

This document should be read alongside the DreamMirror Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

2. Subscription Philosophy

DreamMirror is designed to grow alongside your relationship with your dreams.

The value of DreamMirror is not limited to individual dream interpretations.

As your archive grows, you gain more of your own material to revisit—and DreamMirror can help you explore connections, themes and patterns across weeks, months and years. You remain the interpreter of what those connections mean.

Subscriptions support the continued development and operation of this long-term experience.

3. Access States and Subscription Plans

DreamMirror currently offers Guest access, a free Trial, and two paid subscription plans.

Guest

Guest mode lets you try DreamMirror without creating an account.

Guest access is an introduction to the product. It is temporary and is not designed to provide a permanent dream archive or cross-device storage.

Free Trial

Creating an account begins a free trial of **7 days**.

During the trial, you can use DreamMirror’s core journaling features and the advanced discovery features associated with DreamMirror Plus, so you can experience how the product develops over multiple dreams before choosing a plan.

The trial is an account access state, not a paid plan.

DreamMirror

£3.99 per month

DreamMirror is the personal dream journaling plan.

It includes:

unlimited dream recording;

all interpretation lenses;

guided reflections;

personal dream archive;

search, export and deletion of your dreams where those features are available;

long-term journal access while your subscription is active.

DreamMirror is designed for users who wish to build a thoughtful and lasting record of their dreams.

DreamMirror Plus

£5.99 per month

DreamMirror Plus includes everything in DreamMirror, together with advanced long-term discovery features.

These currently include:

Dream Map;

Dream Timeline;

Dream Themes;

Memory Echoes;

Dream Resonances;

Recurring Symbols;

Recurring People;

Recurring Places.

DreamMirror Plus is designed for users who wish to explore not only individual dreams but also patterns and relationships across their archive over time.

Some discovery features continue to evolve during Beta. DreamMirror does not promise unspecified future features as part of Plus.

4. Billing

Paid subscriptions are charged **monthly** on a recurring basis.

Payments are processed securely by **Stripe**.

DreamMirror does **not** store your full payment card information. Card details are entered and handled with Stripe.

5. Cancelling Your Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

Cancellation is intended to be straightforward and without dark patterns.

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period. You keep the features of your plan until that period ends.

Unless you subscribe again, no further recurring subscription payments should be taken after cancellation takes effect at the end of that period.

Cancelling a subscription is **not** the same as deleting your account. Account deletion is a separate action and is explained in the Terms and Privacy Policy. Account deletion is immediate and permanent; it does not keep the journal for later return. Permanent account deletion also ends an active DreamMirror subscription. Ordinary cancellation leaves the account in place.

After the paid billing period ends, paid creation and discovery features end and the account becomes **read-only**. Former paid archive retention is described in section 11. The automatic **30-day Trial archive deletion** schedule in section 10 applies only to Trial accounts that **never** subscribed and must not be confused with the former-paid schedule.

6. Changing Plans

Where DreamMirror offers plan changes, you may move between DreamMirror and DreamMirror Plus.

An **upgrade** to DreamMirror Plus is intended to take effect when the change succeeds, with charging handled through Stripe.

A **downgrade** to DreamMirror is intended to take effect at the end of the current billing period, with Plus features remaining available until then.

Your dream archive remains yours. Access to Plus-only discovery features follows your current plan after a change takes effect. Existing saved dream entries and readings remain part of your archive; Plus-only discovery views may no longer be available after a downgrade.

Further detail of timing and charging is provided through Stripe Checkout or the customer billing portal where used.

7. After Your Trial Ends

If you choose not to subscribe after your free trial:

Your account is **not deleted**.

It becomes a **read-only** account.

You can continue to:

sign in;

browse your archive;

search your dreams;

export your archive where export is available;

delete dreams;

delete your account.

Recording new dreams, generating new interpretations and using active discovery features require an active paid subscription.

Trial archive retention is described in section 10. Former paid archive retention is described in section 11.

8. Read-Only Accounts

Read-only access exists so that DreamMirror does not hold your journal hostage merely because active creation features are unavailable.

During an applicable read-only period, existing content remains available to revisit, search, export or delete where those features are supported, while new interpretive or discovery activity is restricted.

Read-only access is subject to the archive retention rules that apply to your account type:

never-subscribed Trial accounts: **30-day** retention design (section 10);

former paid subscribers: **12-month** retention policy (section 11).

Read-only access is not an indefinite guarantee where a retention schedule applies.

9. Reactivating a Subscription

If you later subscribe to DreamMirror or DreamMirror Plus, your account is intended to regain access to the features of your chosen plan once the subscription is successfully activated.

Your existing archive remains available if it has not already been removed under an applicable retention schedule. DreamMirror cannot restore archive material that has already been permanently deleted.

10. Trial Archive Retention

When a free trial ends without an active subscription, DreamMirror retains the read-only dream archive for **30 days**.

This schedule applies only to Trial users who **never** subscribe. It does **not** apply to paid subscribers under the automatic Trial deletion rule.

During the retention period, users may:

browse and search their archive;

export their archive where export is available;

delete dreams or their account at any time.

DreamMirror’s retention approach includes **one reminder email** approximately **7 days** before permanent deletion of an inactive Trial archive. The reminder email and automatic archive-deletion processes are **not currently active**. Until reminder delivery is enabled, you should not rely on receiving an email reminder. If you wish to keep your dreams, please export them or subscribe during the retention period.

When those processes are enabled, if no subscription is started by the end of the 30-day period, the inactive Trial archive is intended to be permanently deleted, while the account may remain.

This approach supports a sustainable service, minimises long-term storage of highly personal dream data for never-subscribed Trial accounts, and aims to give users a clear opportunity to export their journal or continue their journey.

11. Former Paid Archive Retention

A user who has previously been a paying DreamMirror or DreamMirror Plus subscriber is **not** treated like a never-subscribed Trial user when paid access ends.

When the paid billing period ends after cancellation (or when paid access otherwise ends):

the account becomes **read-only**;

existing Dream Archive content remains available during the retention period;

you may browse, search, export where available, delete individual dreams where currently supported, delete your account, or resubscribe.

Former paid subscribers receive a **12-month** archive retention period after the paid subscription ends. This is intentionally longer than the **30-day** never-subscribed Trial retention period, because a paying user may have spent months or years building a personal dream journal.

These schedules must not be merged:

**Trial user who never subscribed:** 30 days (section 10).

**Former paid subscriber:** 12 months (this section).

DreamMirror’s intended former-paid lifecycle includes advance email notice approximately **30 days** before permanent archive deletion, giving you an opportunity to export your archive, resubscribe, or delete your account yourself.

The automated reminder and automatic archive-deletion processes for former paid subscribers are **not currently active**. Until those processes are enabled, you should not rely on receiving an email reminder. If you wish to keep your dreams, please export them or resubscribe during the retention period.

Account deletion remains a separate, user-initiated process and is not the same as ordinary subscription cancellation or archive retention. Account deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no waiting period in which a deleted journal can later be restored. Permanent account deletion also ends an active DreamMirror subscription. Ordinary cancellation does not delete the account.

12. Refunds

Refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable consumer law.

DreamMirror currently sells subscriptions through Stripe-hosted web billing.

Nothing in this policy removes rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

13. Future Changes

Subscription prices, features and plans may evolve as DreamMirror develops.

Where reasonably possible, existing subscribers will receive advance notice of significant pricing or subscription changes. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

DreamMirror does not use this section to promise unspecified future features. Book of Your Dreams is a future feature and is not part of the current DreamMirror Plus subscription promise.
